Councillor Bob Bowdler & I have worked all year on this project with Steve Wennington of Hailsham Active. This creates certainty around the long-term future of Maurice Thornton as an important community open space. We’re hopeful that this will now open up the way for Hailsham Active to attract much needed external sports funding to support Maurice Thornton playing field to the benefit of the whole town.
