I’m pleased to have persuaded the East Sussex Road Safety Team to place temporary traffic calming posters on the adopted parts of Brunel Drive, Hedley Way and Stanier Street. These will be installed towards the end of March. The posters are attached to street furniture, usually street lighting columns, for a 3 month period. They are not a permanent fixture, as their effectiveness relies on drivers seeing them as a new addition to the area. However, if poor driving habits return, further posters can be added by the Traffic Monitoring Team at a later date. I hope that these measures on top of the double yellow lines that I persuaded officers to place on the approaches to Brunel Drive a couple of years ago will help to improve the local street environment.
