The East Sussex County Council Director of Public Health & I worked with the Sussex NHS in late January to find a solution for accelerated vaccine delivery in Hailsham. We managed between us to agree a plan which took Hailsham from being a County laggard to a leader in vaccine rollout. In 4 days alone 2,000 Hailsham residents received the Pfizer vaccine at Eastbourne Beacon Centre, allowing local surgeries to focus on the elderly, extremely vulnerable and less mobile.
